Brand Management Masterclass

This week I sat down with Jon Klein, CEO of Online Business Growth (OBG).

OBG’s model is simple.

  • Manage a brand’s storefront for a % of revenue
  • Or manage the brand as an exclusive reseller on Amazon

This is THE best model for selling on Amazon in 2025.

He gives away tons of tactical details and tips in this interview.

Amazon's $233M Bet On India

Amazon sees India as a critical marketplace for international expansion and they're putting their money where their mouth is.

This year they plan to invest $233M into the region to develop operations and fulfillment tech.

This is part of Amazon's larger $20B planned investment in India through 2030.

Part of this investment will go towards employee health and financial wellness initiatives.

My take: Amazon's investment in India is no surprise -- it's one of the fastest growing eCom markets in the world.

For sellers, this could signal future potential for cross-border trade, and possibly a test site for new fulfillment tech before it hits the US.

Watch Out Amazon, Gen Z Is Leaning Towards Google

New data from Morgan Stanley shows 30% of Gen Z now starts product searches on Google—up from 21% in Sept 2024.

Amazon’s share among Gen Z dropped from 41% to 34%.

Google credits features like AI Overview and Google Lens as reasons for the uptick.

My take: The data indicates that Amazon may need to pivot to remain competitive in discovery and search among younger shoppers.

It’s time for sellers to start thinking multi-platform, especially if your product mix targets Gen Z consumers.
