Why this man keeps returning 110-pound anvils

Here's what we have inside this week's newsletter:

  • How to get your first wholesale deal in 7 days
  • Why working direct with brands is the safest play in 2025
  • Pattern (the #1 Amazon seller) files for IPO
  • This guy keeps buying and returning 110-pound anvils on Amazon

Getting Your First Wholesale Deal in 7 Days

I just dropped a new podcast episode that walks through exactly how to land your first wholesale deal in a week or less.

It's the exact playbook I use to help sellers go from zero to their first brand partnership.

The episode covers:

  • Step 1: How to quickly identify the best brands
  • Step 2: My 1-sentence call script that converts
  • Step 3: How to place your first order
  • Step 4: A 7-day action plan

Most sellers overthink wholesale. They spend months "researching" instead of actually reaching out.

This episode fixes that.

Why Brand Direct is the Play for 2025

I also posted a new video breaking down why working directly with brands is the safest business model for 2025.

Here's the reality: many resellers are getting squeezed out.

Brands want more control. They want direct relationships. They want to know who's selling their products.

The video covers:

  • Why brands direct is the best model in 2025
  • The advantages of direct relationships
  • How to position yourself as a partner, not just another reseller
  • Red flags that signal a brand isn't worth pursuing

Smart sellers are already making this shift. The ones who don't will get left behind.

Pattern Files for IPO

Pattern Group, the #1 Amazon seller, just filed for an IPO after recording a 35% jump in revenue in the first half of 2025.

The Utah-based company reported net income of $47 million on revenue of $1.14 billion for the six months ended June 30.

Pattern positions itself as an "e-commerce accelerator," helping brands expand across global online marketplaces like Amazon, Walmart, and eBay.

Basically, they're a brand direct wholesale seller.

My take: Pattern's growth shows there's serious money in helping brands succeed on marketplaces.

They've built a billion-dollar business doing exactly what many of us do, just at massive scale with huge brands.

Man Keeps Buying and Returning 110-Pound Anvils

An Illinois man named Johnbo Stockwell has gone viral on TikTok for repeatedly buying and returning 110-pound anvils on Amazon over the past eight months.

In one video, he shows 10 anvil orders placed and returned within just a few weeks.

He claims his goal is to "overthrow Amazon.com."

The stunt has drawn criticism from Amazon employees and delivery drivers who have to handle the heavy packages.

My take: This is exactly why Amazon's return policies will keep getting stricter.

One person's "protest" becomes everyone else's problem when Amazon tightens return windows or adds restocking fees.

That's it for this week!

Be back next week...

PS: If you're serious about landing your first wholesale deal, listen to this week's podcast episode. The 1-sentence email template alone is worth the 40 minutes.
